I read a quote somewhere once that stuck with me all these years. It said, “The objective of designers is to make everything in your closet feel obsolete.” That might be easier than normal this spring for the cut & sew knit designers out there!

Wovens & soft dressing have dominated the market so many seasons in a row, it’s been hard to find any cut & sew styles that felt fresh or new. Well now the industry has overwhelmingly determined its time to release the knits, but not before arming them with a slew of new fabrics, textures, and treatments. For this spring we recommend loading your closet with  fabrics like linen blend jerseys, modern burnouts, light weight snits (check out last month’s blog if you don’t know what that is), and anything mixed with lace, macramé, or crochet. Some of the key silhouettes for the modern woman to covet are circle tees, trapeze tops, faux two-fers, henleys, and the stylish sweatpant. Given that the trending silhouettes are relatively basic, they lend themselves to be great print vehicles. Be sure to infuse your wardrobe with a few fun prints that speak to you and reflect the change of season. We recommend any kind of floral, updated tie-dyes, or mixed up stripes.

There really are so many great knits out there that offer the best of comfort, style, and affordability. So happy shopping and remember… cut & sew knits are all the rage.
